Duties, Responsibilities & Other

    The primary responsibility is to grow the practice; maximizing market share and developing of new clients/services in Transportation Design.
  • Leads the Transportation Design regional practice's business development effort by providing input to disciplines sales goals, developing a marketing/education plan for each practice, obtaining market intelligence through client relationships and leading marketing/proposal efforts.
  • Strengthens relationship with MDOT agencies and grows relationships with VDOT, DDOT and DELDOT.
  • Identifies new clients and marketing opportunities and works with the Corporate and Practice Leaders to win the work.
  • Continue to grow the positive momentum of the transportation design/inspection team in Maryland through the further development of the roadway, traffic, and structures teams.
  • Coordinate with the PA, Transit and Nepa regional practice leaders in KCI's north region to grow these services.
  • Supervises staff through the development and leadership of the practice leaders.
  • Builds a high-performance team through personal/professional leadership and the identification/attraction of top outside talent.
  • Train, mentor and develop staff into transportation design leaders.
  • Coordinates resource allocation within regions, practices and with other regions.
  • Serves as principle-in-charge or senior project manager for large/significant projects/pursuits
  • Minimum of 15 years of technical professional experience. Minimum of 12 years of client/portfolio management. Minimum of 15 years of technical staff supervision.
  • Professional license/certification in area of Transportation design expertise required.
  • Must possess exceptional leadership, written and verbal communication, relationship, and business development skills. Must develop, activate and affect the vision for the regional practice and discipline.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical or related area) or equivalent. Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
