SSOE is seeking a Technical Battery Leader for our Solar/Battery Practice, who develops innovative projects in a transformational and growth sector. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of advanced industrial facilities for the world's leading companies. You will work closely with our clients, engineering teams, and other professionals to ensure that projects meet and exceed industry standards.

Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

    Acts as a Battery Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure technical excellence.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in specific areas of focus. In this case battery manufacturing including recycling.
  • Listens to client technology details and develops an understanding of their specific battery production or recycling systems.
  • Represents the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a battery project.
  • Serves as battery technology advisor or consultant in the role of technical specialist requiring highly, specialized knowledge and skills and the use of advanced techniques.
  • May supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a team of engineers and designers working on the same assigned project.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters, and/or unusual problems and developments in battery projects.
  • Defines project scope and develops it into manageable tasks.
  • Provides supervisor and project manager with scope of work change warnings.
  • Takes part in client contact and business development activities (especially with new battery facilities proposals).
  • Meets with clients to define project scope, define technology understanding, and assure client satisfaction.
  • Understands or coordinates with other engineers to review chemical usage and interaction. Able to review codes and apply them to manufacturing and storage designs to ensure compliance.
  • Able to meet with authorities having jurisdiction to support code reviews and apply for variances in conjunction with architects.
  • Maintains continuing professional education in the discipline.
  • Travel required.


Qualifications

What You'll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering is required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience or 10 years of direct experience.
  • Registration preferred.
  • Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese speakers a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Valid passport required for occasional project-related international travel.

  • Salary: $130,000 - $180,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications directly related to the position.
