Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

    Acts as a lead project architect and as the professional in "responsible charge" in a multi-discipline design team, overseeing a multi-location architectural production team, with strong client engagement skills.
  • Responsible for the performance of the team to contracted scope, schedule and budget on medium- to large-sized battery / solar PV manufacturing projects. Manage technical resources to accomplish project objectives.
  • Applies sound and diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in battery and / or solar PV manufacturing or related fields.
  • Makes independent decisions on architectural problems, practices, and methods. Independently plans and executes tasks involving critical judgment in evaluating and selecting building materials, systems, and design methods. Devises new approaches to problems and develops substantial adaptations and modifications to standard architectural techniques and procedures.
  • Exercises sound judgment to resolve problems but may receive architectural guidance on unusual or complex facility designs. May consult with department manager or other Subject Matter Experts concerning unusual issues.
  • Knows local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA compliance requirements, and a working knowledge of site planning, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering systems, methods, and general details.
  • Assists in the integration of all disciplines of the project(s).
  • Uses knowledge of architectural drafting, detailing, building materials, and construction techniques to finalize project documents for bidding, permitting, and construction purposes. Responsible for the final content of architectural project specifications.
  • Responsible for the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work.
  • Responsible for overall quality management of the architectural team.
  • Participate in managing change for deviations in scope, schedule or professional services for the discipline.
  • Meets with contractors to discuss technical aspects of project design and construction.
  • Conduct field verification and site walks to identify, validate, resolve and integrate solutions into design packages. Resolve design issues on-site during construction, as necessary.
  • Contribute to business development activities as needed.
  • Participate in proposal preparation activities to establish scope of services, effort hour estimate(s), exclusions/clarifications, deliverables, and staffing/work plans to align with project schedule.
  • Travel required.

Qualifications

This is What You'll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture is required, along with an NCARB Certificate, and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Architect/AIA, ability to become registered in additional states.
  • Experience with implementing LEED projects preferred.
  • Experience with battery/solar manufacturing plants, clean/dry rooms preferred.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is required. Experience with Navisworks is a plus, rendering capability and knowledge of other 3D platforms is a plus.
  • Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese speakers a plus.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Valid passport required for occasional project-related international travel.
