Moog is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader to plan, organize and conduct team-based improvement & process variation reduction activities to develop solutions for complex problems. In this role, you will need to build strategic working relationships at all levels in the organization, from management to first line process owners and resource managers. You will need to strike a balance between leading, active participation & coaching to develop the solution(s) and implement them. Reporting to a Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager, you will have a hybrid work location (on average, 4 days per week in office depending on the work) with a 9/80 schedule option in Torrance, CA.

As a Continuous Improvement Leader, you will:

  • Develop processes that enable the implementation of Lean, team & process variation reduction (PVR) principles.
  • Provide stability within Teams, Divisions &/or Groups while encouraging, inspiring, motivating and challenging others to continuously improve.
  • Coach to solve problems, remove barriers, work with other cross-functional departments and conduct organized, effective meetings.
  • Conduct/support Lean workshops, project teams, PVR efforts.
  • Provide process improvement support to all divisions and operating units across Moog & support the necessity to implement process improvements & teams with a sense of urgency.
  • Encourage, motivate & foster an environment for employees to be receptive to change.
  • Plan, organize, conduct and follow-up on projects, tasks &/or events with the ability to switch back and forth between facilitative leader and driver as situations dictate.
  • Perform a variety of duties, changing often from one task to another without loss of focus or purpose while identifying and defining problems, evaluating alternatives, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  • Understand and communicate company policies, procedures, vision, goals, and safety regulations to the teams & encouraging ownership for manufacturing and/or operational strategic planning initiatives.
  • Participate and assist in formal training, the facilitating of teams & providing mentoring opportunities for individuals.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred disciplines are Engineering, Business, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or other analytical/mathematical field).
  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience implementing and coordinating Lean/Continuous Improvement activities

This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Experience leading and implementing Lean/Continuous Improvement programs in a Manufacturing environment
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified
  • Familiarity with manufacturing Machining (CNC) or complex Assembly processes
  • Experience in the aerospace or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience utilizing SPC data for root cause analysis

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $100,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
