As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Systems Engineering and Technical Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.

**International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available**

Duties & Responsibilities

SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

* The Systems Engineering Team Lead will be managing the SE activities of the Gateway Program Wireless Access Point (WAP).
* Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.
* Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.
* Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
* Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications.
* Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation.
* Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements.
* Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.
* Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
* Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware.
* Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
* Work and present schedule and progress to customers must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
* Work location physically on site JSC. (Situational telework only).
* Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* A BS Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model-based systems engineering.
* Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
* Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.

PREFERRED

* 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering.
* Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
* Experience with NASA processes.
* Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
