Job Description

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting FSQA Sanitation Technician opportunity in our Guymon processing facility. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the sanitation services department which is responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing activities for production lines in the harvest and/or fabrication areas of the plant. This position performs routine audits of the sanitation process, pre-operational inspections, area specific swabs to ensure the production floor is cleaned and sanitized to achieve high levels of cleanliness according to the Company's and USDA's standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support the effectiveness of sanitation activities through monitoring and auditing of established sanitation programs.


  • Ensures corrective actions are taken and implemented when an issue is identified that the sanitation program has pre-operational inspection failure.


  • Maintains documentation for compliance with Seaboard Foods's sanitation plan, including supporting documentation.


  • Evaluates the Seaboard's sanitation programs routinely to recommend changes if necessary and collaborates with the food safety team to ensure the sanitation program is adhering to the established policies.


  • Stays current and up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sanitation management as well as communicating all changes to Company policies and protocols to employees.


  • Promotes safe work practices, follows GMPs, maintains sanitary conditions, and ensures that product quality is not impacted by the activities of the sanitation services department.


  • Informs supervisors of any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.


  • Perform microbial swabs/testing to validate the effectiveness of the sanitation process.

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's or associate degree in food science, environmental health, public health, or a related field or equivalent or experience in a food manufacturing facility. Work experience in industrial sanitation in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.


  • Laboratory, either chemical or microbial experience preferred.


  • Must have adequate experience to demonstrate thorough knowledge, skills, and abilities of both commercial and technical aspects related to FSQA for the pork business.


  • Additional essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility and primarily will be on the production floor.


  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.


  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


  • This position is primarily on the production floor and will have limited office time.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.


  • The noise level in the work environment requires you to wear hearing protection at all times on the production floor.


  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
