Overview

CAES Mission Systems is an industry leader in the design, manufacture, support of advanced integrated RF systems for high performance Electronic Warfare, Radar/Communications, flight test and instrumentation systems. Our products are used by US and international customers in manned aircraft, UAVs, space launch vehicles, missiles and guided weapons applications.

Are you up for challenges? Mission Systems Lancaster is looking for a Team Player to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment as a Buyer. Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, and being able to adapt to a rapidly changing production environment brings with it an exciting opportunity to influence the successful execution of production goals and achieving operational excellence.

The right individual will ensure a consistent, economical and timely flow of purchased materials and services to support Lancaster operations. Be a negotiator role when required. You will be responsible in reviewing purchasing processes and systems for compliance to government requirements, customer contracts, quality standards and CAES business policies.


Responsibilities

  • Procures materials necessary to meet manufacturing build requirements for one or several product lines.
  • Reviews material specifications, drawings, and related documents.
  • Requests and analyzes quotes to ensure reasonable price, and that specifications are met.
  • Participates in supplier negotiations.
  • Executes purchases and contracts through the ERP system, in accordance with Company and Government Rules and Regulations.
  • Reviews forecasted requirements and assess when to execute orders based on multiple factors.
  • Prepares complete purchase orders and arranges for specifications, material and tooling to be forwarded to suppliers.
  • Participates in cost improvement initiatives.
  • Pulls, pushes, or cancels orders per Planning direction.
  • Ensures materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves issues with receiving, invoices or suppliers.
  • Address, return and receive credit for defective materials.
  • Interfaces with technical and management personnel, regarding changes in material, quantity, quality or delivery schedules.
  • Quickly analyzes problems, investigate and determine solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or other related field.
  • 0-2 Years of Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or other related field.
  • 2-4 Years' of Procurement experience
  • MRP: SAP or IFS experience preferred.
  • Advanced to Expert level in Excel and Power Point.
  • Electronic, Aerospace, or Defense industry background.
  • Knowledge of FAR or recent experience supporting a government contractor environment.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Excel preferred, Microsoft outlook and Word
  • Ability to improve scheduling tools and systems to keep manufacturing and customer service representatives updated on lead times, material availability, and deliver schedules.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other department representatives and management.
  • Analytical and problem solving ability required to identify and resolve problems or recommend

Salary Range: $52,262 - $73,598 annual (Lancaster, PA)

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
