* Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.
SUMMARY
The United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE) Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G6 provides end-to-end Information Technology (IT), Battle Simulation, and end-user IT support to all ICoE activities and units; performs Cybersecurity Management for ICoE; conducts computer, software, and network management and maintenance for ICoE mission systems; conducts Video Teleconferencing (VTC) operations; conducts IT support to Knowledge Management, designs, implements, accounts for, and maintains the Intelligence Center's IT architecture in order to support multi-Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) individual intelligence training, Military Intelligence (MI) Force Development and Experimentation, and the Military Intelligence Training Strategy (MITS).
The Battle Simulations Lead plays a crucial role in developing and implementing realistic training scenarios for intelligence professionals at the United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence. Duties include creation and implementation of complex battle simulations, conducting exercises in both live and virtual settings, assisting training of instructors on how to effectively utilize battle simulations, evaluating the effectiveness of simulations, and staying ahead of the latest advancements in simulation technology, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality and other emerging technologies.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Create and refine complex battle simulations that accurately model real-world intelligence challenges and operational environments.
* Develop sophisticated models of enemy forces, their capabilities, and their likely courses of action.
* Incorporate realistic terrain, weather, and other environmental factors that can impact intelligence operations.
* Oversee the technical implementation of battle simulations, ensuring they function smoothly and effectively within the training environment. This may involve working with software developers, simulation designers, and other technical experts.
* Lead and support live and virtual training exercises that utilize battle simulations, including providing technical support, monitoring exercise progress, and assisting with after-action reviews.
* Train instructors on how to effectively use battle simulations in their training programs, including developing training materials, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support.
* Assess the effectiveness of battle simulations in achieving training objectives, including collecting data on student performance, analyzing exercise outcomes, and making recommendations for improvement.
* Stay abreast of the latest advancements in simulation technology, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
* Team Leadership: Leading and managing a team of IT professionals. Performance Management: Setting performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching. Talent Development: Identifying training needs, developing training plans, and providing opportunities for professional growth. Staffing: Hiring and onboarding new team members, as well as managing terminations and reassignments. Team Building: Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, resolving conflicts, and motivating team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
* Must be certified at the IAT Level II IAW DoD instruction 8570.1m .
* Must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
* 10 Years experience with Army Battle Simulations environments, specifically within the Training Operations Management Activity (TOMA) domain.
* Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline.
* May use four years of experience managing Army Battle Simulations environments in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree. Associates Degree in a STEM discipline is non-waiverable.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
* Extensive experience with modern and legacy Army and Joint battle simulations systems, including Warfighter's Simulation (WARSIM), the WARSIM Intelligence Model (WIM), the Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), the Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Tactical Proficiency Trainer (IEWTPT), the Multiple UAV Simulation Environment (MUSE), META-VR software, and Common Ground Station and JSTARS simulations, and their application in the training of Intelligence operations.
* Experience with the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC), and its federation of Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) simulations systems, and the Joint Training Environment (JTE).
* Familiarity with the Army's Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) scenario, and its derivatives.
* Experience operating battle simulations systems on classified networks at the Secret and Top Secret/SCI levels.
* Extensive experience with High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulations Protocol Data Unit (DIS PDU) protocols and functionality.
* Extensive experience with military (ground forces) scenario development, friendly (US and Coalition) and enemy Order of Battle, and ingestion/digitization of scenarios into battle simulations systems.
* Experience delivering constructive battle simulations into the Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A).
WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions
* Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
* Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
