About the Position

Position Description

UNOS is looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure cloud solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform. This is a technical position responsible for the technical design of our cloud environment, ensuring robust security integration and alignment with business objectives. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, a strong understanding of Azure services, and the ability to collaborate across teams to support organizational goals. The Cloud Architect will play a critical role in driving our cloud migration strategy, optimizing our cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the seamless integration of cloud services across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and trends.
  • Lead cloud adoption initiatives and manage cloud migration projects.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and solutions.
  • Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cloud architecture and processes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Manage budgets and forecast costs associated with cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage third-party relationships.
  • Ensure the cloud environment supports business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Participate in the development of cloud governance frameworks and policies.
  • Team Improvement: Mentor and train staff on cloud technologies and processes

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical experience in IT, with at least 5 years in cloud architecture.

Critical Skills

  • Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and frameworks.
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud-native applications.
  • Expertise in cloud architecture design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in networking, virtualization, and storage solutions.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java, PowerShell).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of data management and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Ability to work with vendors and manage third-party relationships.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools.
  • Understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Ability to manage and optimize cloud costs effectively.
  • Strong understanding of cloud governance and compliance requirements.

Education

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science/Engineering, IT or other related field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Certifications preferred
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Google Professional Cloud Architect
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
