DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Act as liaison between management, health care providers, and support staff to ensure communication between these groups. Instruct and advise support staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards. Assist in the training and orientation of Patient Service Representatives and/or Patient Account Representatives. Perform all aspects of unit-specific tasks to ensure all tasks of the revenue cycle are completed. Maintain accurate provider schedules in the computer system. Complex decision-making and problem resolution. Maintain accurate provider schedules in the computer system. Resolve complex billing issues. Assist with performance monitoring and evaluations, interviewing, hiring, discipline, and termination decisions. Oversee and complete various department-specific projects. Perform supervisory functions necessary to maintain daily operations. Provide leadership role to staff members utilizing knowledge gained through experience. Monitor daily workflow and production, adjusting priorities, requesting temporary help, adjusting schedules, and time off requests, as necessary. Review/audit contracted collection agencies for appropriate collections. Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care. Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. Four (4) years of customer service and or clerical experience. Education may be substituted in lieu of experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Supervisory experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
