Systems Performance Engineer

Join our dynamic team as a Performance Tester to ensure the functionality, capacity, and reliability of newly developed programs for the IRS EDOS BMF project. This critical role involves performance testing, troubleshooting, and providing recommendations for production deployment. Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Performance Tester: $130k- $150k

Pay commensurate with experience.

Performance Tester Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and perform capacity and performance tests, including Baseline, Stress, and Endurance tests.
• Develop test scripts and scenarios based on the approved test plan and simulate workloads.
• Validate performance requirements by analyzing and validating traffic.
• Gather performance metrics (CPU utilization, disk I/O, network transfer rate, transactions per second, response time) and provide input for production deployment recommendations.
• Write and generate comprehensive performance test result reports.
• Utilize performance test and analysis tools, including MicroFocus LoadRunner and JMETER, to execute and analyze tests.
• Provide general support, troubleshooting, and resolution of stress testing and capacity/performance issues.
• Collaborate with IRS and project staff to address performance problems and ensure efficient testing processes.
• Work with hardware platforms such as Windows/Linux Servers, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Docker containers.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Performance Tester Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities requested:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in performance testing, with expertise in capacity testing and test script development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in performance test tools such as MicroFocus LoadRunner and JMETER.
• Strong programming skills in C, Java, Perl, and JavaScript.
• Experience with hardware platforms including Windows/Linux Servers, AWS, and Docker containers.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills to summarize findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Active Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) required
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
