Scope of Position The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement or supervisory organization with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Collaborates with a physician(s) and other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care. The focus is on preventive health or the management of acute and/or stable chronic conditions. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing body and the certifying organization through which they hold licensure. Position Summary The APP provides health care services to patients working in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Healthcare services provided include care during acute and chronic phases of illness, education, and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate Minimum Qualifications

Career Roadmap FUNCTION Nursing SUB-FUNCTION Advanced Practice CAREER BAND Individual Contributor - Clinical CAREER LEVEL C3 The James Cancer Diagnostic Center is a rapid access cancer diagnostic center that provides timely access and a coordinated process to confirm or rule out the diagnosis of cancer or hematologic conditions. The advanced practice provider will be independently seeing patients in clinic and devising a plan of care which may also include consultation with internal experts. Responsibilities include: extensive review of clinical information to formulate plan of care; collaboration with specialty medical, surgical, and procedural teams; review and management of clinic referrals; attention to follow-up care needs for patients; management of IHIS in-basket; frequent attention to email and electronically faxed patient information; PET, CT, MRI, US imaging interpretation to assess disease status; IHIS charting and documentation, order entry; working with an inter-professional team to meet patient needs, extensive knowledge of oncology and diagnostic procedures, labs, interventions. |
