Job Summary

This position will develop strategies, tactics, and infrastructure to execute and grow health care-focused philanthropy programs, with a strong emphasis on grateful patients and families that would support all Prisma Health affiliated foundations in a new, shared services model, and annual giving/other revenue generating campaigns. The incumbent will have a portfolio of donors and will partner with Prisma Health-Upstate clinical leaders and clinicians to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.

Essential Functions

  • Grateful Patients & Families Fundraising

    > Develop and implement best-practice strategies to build and grow the Gifts of Gratitude grateful patients and families program, supporting all Prisma Health affiliated foundations.

    > Manage all processes related to the flow, dissemination, and use of data, serving as the liaison with ITS and all Prisma Health-affiliated Foundations regarding grateful patient fundraising.

    > Build relationships with Upstate clinical departments, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers to build referrals and engagement with the Upstate Foundation.

    > Implement coaching trainings for individuals and departments on an ongoing basis, refreshing delivery methods and content as needed.

    > Partner with Foundation Operations team to track referrals, enter and manage data, and create performance dashboard and other tools to measure and evaluate the impact of the program.

    > Collaborate with Foundation colleagues and Prisma Health Marketing & Communications to develop and create fundraising materials, including print, email, web-based, and social media platforms. Manage communications schedule and track effectiveness/ROI.

    > Identify, engage, and recognize patient and family "champions" to strengthen program effectiveness.

    > Research and benchmark the Gifts of Gratitude Program progress with peer health care institutions.

  • Annual Giving/Mini Campaigns

    > Develop and implement strategies to build and grow the Annual Giving program, focusing on individual gifts of $1,000 to $24,999.

    > Regularly review gifts received to identify and build pool of annual giving donors. Manage portfolio of high-level annual donors, cultivating and stewarding to increase engagement and giving.

    > Collaborate with Foundation colleagues and Prisma Health Marketing & Communications to develop and create fundraising materials, including print, email, web-based, and social media platforms. Manage communications schedule and track effectiveness/ROI.

    > Identify, engage, and recognize patient, family, and student "champions" to strengthen program effectiveness.

    > In collaboration with Manager, Donor Relations & Strategic Communications, develop and execute stewardship strategies for annual donors.

    > Work in conjunction with Prisma Health-Upstate clinical colleagues and hospital CEOs on collaborative opportunities for annual giving to meet needs in alignment with Prisma Health-Upstate and Upstate Foundation priorities.

    > Develop new opportunities to increase annual giving - Women's Giving Circle, Young Donors, etc.

  • Program Support

    > Effectively perform prospect tracking, record keeping, file maintenance, reporting and administration, including use of relational database(s).

    > Develop and manage program budgets.

    > Assist with all Upstate Foundation events and activities as needed.

    >Other duties as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in related field of study

  • Experience - Five (5) years of experience in fundraising/constituent relations; marketing/communications; non-profit management; sales; healthcare administration; or a related field .

    • Ability to work effectively in a large, complex and dynamic organization and embrace change.

    • Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
