Overview

Responsibilities

    Corporate GL Senior Accountant typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Review the performance of business units, including reviewing the WIPs, Sales Reports, Income Statement, Forecasts, and monthly performance analysis
    • Compiles and analyzes financial results and timely and accurately prepares consolidated financial statements and accompanying schedules monthly.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the GL side of transactions are properly recorded
    • Identifies accounting problems, research possible solutions, and forms conclusions to present to management
    • Produce joint venture financial statement packages in a timely manner
    • Assist in the preparation of the internal monthly financial packages and external quarterly financial packages for banks, bonding companies, and other 3rd parties
    • Assist in the year-end close, including preparation of portions of the financial statements and supporting audit schedules
    • Assist in the preparation of support for statutory audit requirements
    • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally
    • Train and mentor junior level accounting staff and accounting interns
    • Assist in technical accounting matters to support the organization in complex accounting transactions, and reporting the appropriate application of U.S. GAAP

Experience and Education

  • BS Degree in Accounting, or related field
  • 5-7 years working in a public accounting firm or CM /General Contractor organizations
  • Equivalent or combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of GAAP requirements and their applicability to financial reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal, time and self-management skills & ability to prioritize

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Providence, Rhode Island this ranges from $84,500.00 -$116,200.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
