POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

This is a Part Time opportunity - Must be able to work weekends, overnight shift.11PM to 7AM

$22.65 per hour, $4.90 H & W, Shift differential $1.00

TheSecurity Screenerwill inspect visitors & JIATFS employees'baggage or other incoming material to ensure compliance with Government security regulations. Will also be required to escort uncleared personnel throughout the facility as needed. Shift hours for Security Screeners 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Shields Point is staffing immediately to fill these position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide access control to the controlled facility.
  • Conduct personnel and package inspections as authorized by law and as described in applicable General and Post Orders
  • Operate a variety of equipment to include X-Ray machines. Mantraps/Portals, Walk-Thru Metal Detectors (WRMD) or hand wands


Pay Rate $22.65 per hour

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.
  • Armed Officers must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age .
  • Must be a high school/GED graduate.
  • The ability to effectively interact with the general public, DoD personnel and all ranks of military, civilians and visitors.
  • Must be able to work alone for a minimum of 3 hours while continuing to monitor personnel and provide exit screening.
  • Be able to read and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly and clearly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public.
  • The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter.
  • Be able to compose in the English language precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports as necessary.
  • Must be eligible for and, subsequently be issued aDepartment of Defense (DoD) Contractor Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass annual physical.
  • Must be able to pass random drug screening.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. May be considered to upgrade to TS/SCI.
