Essential Functions
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for heavy civil, mechanical, and process material components using estimating software.
- Assist in preparing detailed labor, materials, and equipment cost estimates.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and documents to identify scope and key requirements.
- Participate in the bid process by compiling cost data, subcontractor quotes, and vendor pricing.
- Support the preparation of bid forms, proposals, and alternative solutions to meet project goals.
- Ensure estimates align with company standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to validate estimates.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and analyze quotes for mechanical systems, heavy civil infrastructure, and process materials.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Work to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
Basic Qualifications
- In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related degree.
- Interest in a career in heavy construction.
- Experienced with complete Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing and communications skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Experience with/aptitude for construction and/or mechanical processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in the heavy construction industry.
