The Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics business provides leading naval computing infrastructure, network and data distribution and middleware enterprise services, as well as world-class manufacturing and support capabilities.

Job Summary

This position will lead the strategic growth of our Naval Electronics Business Unit. This includes leading the Advanced Concepts group and helping drive and evolve the overall business strategy of Naval Electronics. The responsibilities of this position will span across business units and partnerships with other companies.

The team is committed to accelerating the exchange of innovative technical ideas and solutions among Leonardo DRS, our customers, and our supplier partnerships. Translating market and customer insights into actionable technology roadmaps that align with customer future needs and anticipated industry trends, ensuring that our products and capabilities are well-positioned to seize emerging opportunities and obtaining internal and external investment to support these strategic initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Within Naval Electronics, plan and recommend sales and marketing strategies to achieve maximum pipeline development consistent with the Company's financial objectives; drive the Company's tactical and strategic growth
  • Responsible for managing and developing the talent on the Advanced Concepts team
  • Along with the business and line of business leads, establish goals to ensure achievement of strategic development pursuit objectives and profitability of products and services
  • Overall responsibility for continuously scouting for emerging trends, technologies, and concepts that have the potential to revolutionize our industry and significantly impact our business
  • Overall responsibility for generating and fostering innovative ideas through interdisciplinary collaboration and creative thinking, ensuring alignment with future customer needs and industry trends
  • Managing the selection and execution of partnerships to enable growth opportunities
  • Manage and analyze the market intelligence data to ensure market opportunities are capitalized on as they occur and minimize the effects of competitive activity
  • Familiarity and analysis of DoD budgets annually as related to the pursuits or potential pursuits of Naval Electronics
  • Responsible for customer engagement and preparation of customer and strategic presentations
  • Responsible for rigorously evaluating the feasibility and potential impact of proposed concepts through thorough analysis, experimentation, and feedback from customers' technical communities and leadership
  • Manage prototype, pilot, and incubation of promising concepts to demonstrate their viability
  • Overall responsibility for developing, planning, coordinating, and communicating the Company's Overall Strategic Plan, leading up to the Company's Annual Strategic Planning meeting
  • Formulate and exercise capture plans and opportunity shaping for long-range emerging opportunities/technologies to ensure achievement of financial objectives, and product and service innovation
Job Responsibilities (Cont.)
  • Lead and own the Naval Electronics' Strategic Planning process
  • Engage key stakeholders to develop and maintain the Strategic Plan
  • Identify and foster merger and acquisition activity
  • Conduct periodic meetings and audits to determine effectiveness of competitive efforts and degree of achievement of goals
  • Ensure the development of individual and department plans and budgets are consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget
  • Attend appropriate corporate meetings and report in areas of responsibility as requested by Senior Management
  • Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Awareness of Navy organizationlandscape and acquisition process familiarity
  • Experience with DoD development/technology program captures
  • Experience directing development organizations in the DoD contractor space (10-15 years)
  • Experience with products/manufacturing/engineering based businesses
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge in US Contracting, ITAR, FAR, and budgeting processes
  • Demonstrated successful executive presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of Company products, markets, and technology

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The expected pay scale for this position is $180,404 - $357,875. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
