Position Description

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

About the Department and/or College

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Plan and develop communication for information about programs to maintain favorable stakeholder perceptions of the center's vision, and mission.
  • Design email marketing templates, project and program brochures, newsletters, graphics, invitations, holiday cards, and other print and web collateral.
  • Manage the content calendar of the center's social media pages, and online presence to promote engagement and two-way dialogue with various stakeholders.
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and impact evaluation of the programs developed by the center, and stakeholders on and off-campus.
  • Develop and write internal and external executive communication pieces on behalf of the center leadership, including researching issues and preparing summaries, remarks, and presentations.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the website as needed and collaborate with the Rawls College of Business marketing team on communication and marketing protocol.
  • Host stakeholders at the center office as part of program collaboration pathways.
  • Manage program workshops, seminars, and conferences developed at the center.
  • Track, analyze, and report data from center programs, and make recommendations for improvements. Prepare reports for university leadership on program outcomes and areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication abilities, and creativity in program management - in-person, and online. Organizational skills to manage and maintain simultaneous center programs. Technical proficiency in website and content management, and editing, as well as technical proficiency in social media management tools, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and large language models, such as chat GPT, etc.
