Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

  • As required by the therapist, prepares equipment for indicated therapy procedures.
  • Regularly transfers and transports patients to the department and returns them to the room following treatment.
  • Assists staff with patient treatment, transfers, mobility and gait under supervision of therapist.
  • Contributes to the preparation of charges, schedules, ordering of supplies and other paperwork as well as other duties that may be assigned by the Manager or Director.
  • Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care.
  • Provides age appropriate treatment according to established goals on the treatment plan, under the supervision of the therapist.
  • Regularly assists on a daily basis in the upkeep and after care of machines, maintenance of temperature logs, cleaning and organizing the entire department to ensure a safe working environment for all patients and staff.
  • Assists therapists during case conferences.
