Position Summary |
The position is responsible for professional work involving programs and functions within the Curriculum Systems unit in the Office of the Registrar. The position is responsible for oversight of the operations of the First-Year Odyssey Seminar program and the Double Dawgs Program as well as the supervision and management of student workers. Providing support to these programs also has a level of fiscal/budget responsibility. The position is expected to perform these necessary and important tasks with a significant degree of autonomy and independence in order to ensure the effectiveness of the programs and services within the area of assignment. |

Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the First-Year Odyssey Seminar Program and oversight of staff who assist with such duties as:
* Promoting the
FYO program at recruitment events including New Student Orientation, Orientation Resources Fair, and Admissions First Look events
* Communicating with and educating students and parents about the
FYO program
* Facilitating the
FYO seminar submission, review, and approval process
* Loading seminar sections in Banner and facilitating room scheduling process; manage enrollment and overrides.
* Tasks associated with the out-of-class activities process for the
FYO program and for planning and facilitating the
FYO faculty events and coordinating with the
UGA Foundation.
* Tracking students' completion of the
FYO requirement
* Administering the faculty compensation process for the
FYO program

FYO event submission, review, and approval process
* Supporting the
FYO Advisory Committee
* Resolving issues and communicating with faculty and staff regarding the
FYO program
* Working with staff and website developers on the ongoing development of the
FYO proposal system and website
* Development of the
FYO budget and purchase of

* Management of the Double Dawgs website content review and updates
* Responding to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and administrators
* Double Dawgs Athena application testing
* Assisting with development of the Double Dawgs budget
* Determining and purchasing Double Dawgs promotional items
* Management and coordination of the Double Dawgs departmental funding incentive process
* Meeting with campus units and other institutions to promote the Double Dawgs program and answer questions about the program
* Creating presentations and presenting the program as needed
* Manage the Double Dawgs departmental email account responding to questions and concerns from students, faculty, staff, prospective students, and individuals from other institutions |
