About the RoleAre you ready to unleash your technical creativity? Dream, Innovate, Inspire and Empower the next generation to transform humanity through technology and imagination! Electrical engineers at Sierra Space research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

A successful candidate shall be capable of learning the Siemens Capital Harness suite of tools with a basic understanding of Wiring Diagrams, Harness definition drawings, Harness Architecture drawings, Harness routing topology, Formboards and Installation drawings. The candidate shall have a basic understanding of Military and Commercial aerospace parts, and the application of EWIS components to ensure the designs meet the requirements. It is desired that candidates shall also possess the desire to learn multiple industry best practices for EWIS design and installation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • The ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance Learn moreabout the background check process for Security Clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Understanding of EWIS deliverables (Wiring Diagrams, Harness definition drawings, Harness Architecture drawings, Harness routing topology, Formboards and Installation drawings).
  • Ability to learn the Siemens Capital suite (Capital Harness XC, Capital Logic, Capital Topology and Capital Device Modeler)
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX and TeamCenter.
  • Basic understanding of EWIS components and their applications
  • Basic understanding of EWIS industry standards (AS50881, AC 43.13-1B, EIA-364, DO-160, 25.1701 and IPC620)
  • Basic understanding of EMI/EMC and wire harness channelization
  • Ability to support development of EWIS Requirements, Processes and Methodologies
  • Basic understanding of the Validation and Verification process
  • Desire to learn and receive mentorship from experienced team members
  • Knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Great interpersonal skills with the desire to learn and the ability to take direction.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
  • Rarely exposed to loud noises

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:$68,926.06 - $94,773.33
