Student Assistant II - Enrollment Management-Dallas TITLE Student Assistant JOB SUMMARY The Dallas One Stop is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated student assistants to join our team. As a Student Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional support and service to students, faculty, and staff. This position involves a variety of tasks, including front desk duties, data entry, and assisting with campus events. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent customer service skills, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Assistant Director of Enrollment Services - Dallas One Stop Shop ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following: * The student assistant will greet and assist visitors, answer and direct phone calls, and provide general information and assistance to students, faculty, and staff. They will offer exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, and will assist students with navigating university services and resources. * The student assistant will enter and update confidential records accurately, maintain and organize electronic and physical files, and ensure data integrity and confidentiality. * The student assistant will perform filing, photocopying, and document organization, and assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors. * The student assistant will monitor and respond to emails in a timely manner, forwarding inquiries to appropriate departments when necessary. They will inform prospective students about admission requirements and processes, and assist with the preparation and distribution of admission materials. * The student assistant will assist in the planning and execution of campus events, including the Dallas Academic Showcase. This includes helping to set up and break down event spaces, and providing support during events by guiding visitors and answering questions. The student assistant will staff information tables and provide assistance during student service events, answering questions and providing guidance about available resources. * The student assistant will assist with basic financial aid inquiries, providing information on financial aid processes and deadlines. They will help students understand their financial aid options, direct them to relevant resources, and provide support in completing necessary documentation. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Enrollment as a current student at the institution is required. Relevant coursework or experience in customer service, office administration, or related fields is preferred. EXPERIENCE Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, ideally within an educational or office setting, is preferred. REQUIREMENT Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position. This is not a remote work position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES -The following are essential: * Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Strong organizational and time management skills * Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Familiarity with university admissions and financial aid processes (preferred) * Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described in the Essential Duties and below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
