TITLE

Executive Director of Admissions Undergraduate Recruitment

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Director of Admissions Undergraduate Recruitment is responsible for developing and implementing all activities related to the day-to-day supervision of the Undergraduate Admissions office, including recruitment, admission, policy development, and meeting enrollment goals for matriculation of first-year and transfer students. The Executive Director is a leader and a compelling voice for access to a public university and the value of an education at Texas Woman's University. The Executive Director serves on the Enrollment Management leadership team and collaborates across the University to support undergraduate recruitment goals. The duties and responsibilities are performed under minimal supervision and assessed upon the effective operation of the Admissions Undergraduate Office. The performance evaluation is conducted through the TWU performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Vice President for Enrollment Management

Supervises: Associate Director of Admissions Undergraduate Recruitment, Assistant Director of Admissions Undergraduate Recruitment, Assistant Director Regional Recruitment, Admissions Undergraduate Counselors, and Admissions Business Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:

* Provides exemplary leadership and mentoring of Undergraduate admissions staff across all campuses and regional locations, maintaining a culture of collaboration and transparency.

* Develops goals under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Management in establishing first-year and transfer enrollment matriculation metrics.

* Collaborates with Enrollment Management leadership to develop and oversee events across the State of Texas for high school counselors, college advisors, prospective students, and special populations.

* Responsible for training and mentoring Undergraduate admissions staff in the

conceptualization and implementation tactics related to the admissions funnel including conversion and yield strategies.

* Analyzes and utilizes student information to target recruitment efforts.

* Produces necessary reports related to undergraduate recruitment and admissions.

* Promotes a customer service orientated atmosphere to serve prospective students and their families.

* Represents and builds relationships to promote Texas Woman's University in the community and across the State of Texas high school network.

* Develops, maintains, and promotes Community College relationships across the State of Texas to recruit and retain Undergraduate transfer students.

* Builds and maintains relationships and communication across the university to facilitate the implementation of recruiting and admissions initiatives.

* Oversees Admissions Undergraduate Recruitment budget.

* Oversees the coordination of all Undergraduate recruitment travel.

* Responsible for risk management and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and information.

* Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of admissions policies and procedures that are aligned with the Statement of Principles of Good Practice created by NACAC.

* Maintains knowledge of existing and new policies, practices and procedures related to NCAA transfer credit processing while adhering to Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and NCAA rules and regulations.

* Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication department in designing and preparing targeted recruitment materials.

* Reviews exceptions and resolves complex or unusual admissions problems.

* Responsible for establishing job standards and effectively evaluating staff. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

* Acts as a resource on admissions and recruitment procedures for the University.

* Performs other duties as requested.

EDUCATION

Master's degree required.

EXPERIENCE

Seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in undergraduate admissions with a proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding enrollment goals. Experience in leading a department, managing a budget and supervising staff, preferably in higher education.

REQUIREMENT

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position. Occasional evening and weekend hours. This is not a hybrid work assignment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:

* Knowledge of strategic planning principles.

* Skills and proven experience in the development of comprehensive recruitment and enrollment plans directed toward attracting a diverse and high academic achieving student body.

* Ability to convert student prospect to enrollment through the use of innovative and strategic approaches towards recruitment.

* Knowledge related to the role of marketing (i.e. social media, view books, search pieces) and a strong background working with a publications office at a college or university.

* Knowledge of admissions application processing.

* Knowledge of student record systems and how to integrate data into strategic planning.

* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents.

* Knowledge of TWU academic program requirements.

* Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with prospective students and families, applicants, current students, faculty, staff, other administrators and the public.

* Ability to apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.

* Ability to plan, organize, and guide staff to assure maximum efficiency and productivity in their recruitment efforts, application processing functions, and workflow efficiencies.

* Ability to plan, direct, and evaluate, the implementation of long-term and short-term goals of the department.

* Knowledge of University policies concerning admissions, student and academic records.

* Ability to work on own initiative, exercising sound judgment, and working with a high degree of accuracy.

* Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and periods of heavy workloads.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee may be required to travel 20%-30% of the time. Ability, adaptability, and willingness to work flexible hours and extended days within a very fluid ever-changing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

TWU promotes a safe working environment. Employees are responsible for completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently, and supervisors are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees must report any unsafe work conditions or practices, as well as any near-miss incidents, to their supervisor and Risk Management. Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.
