Goldman Sachs Private Bank

Goldman Sachs Private Bank provides competitive borrowing and cash management solutions from Goldman Sachs Bank USA that are strategically integrated with our client's wealth management goals. Our experienced team partners with PWAs to advise clients on new loans, refinancing and restructuring of existing loans along with overall liability management. Our lenders and mortgage specialists provide a wide range of creative borrowing solutions against asset classes ranging from marketable securities and alternative investments, residential and commercial real estate to more tailored solutions against private assets such as aviation, fine art or vineyards. All team members are employees of Goldman Sachs Bank, USA.

TEAM & ROLE OVERVIEW

The Capital and Funding team is primarily responsibility for efficiently managing the financial resources of the Private Bank Lending business.

Principal Responsibilities - Franchise Management



  • Profitability management & reporting in conjunction with broader Wealth Management Finance team. Monitoring of risk limits, balance sheet management and capital planning
  • Forecast capital requirements, balance sheet, and top line revenues to be used in business planning and stress testing by firm management
  • Support Lenders to drive products' strategic initiatives, including new product launches, via data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation preparation
  • Own the risk integrity of loan book including origination, servicing, and portfolio management by coordinating across underwriters, operations, and other internal stakeholders (e.g., Controllers and Risk)
  • Provide transaction support where needed to help structure new transactions efficiently with consideration of entity, liquidity, capital, internal loan booking and funding processes and within relevant governance and controls frameworks
  • Understand, monitor and support loan origination and funding process through the lifecycle of a loan
  • Work as the face of the business when dealing with internal groups to help resolve issues related to Private Bank products


Principal Responsibilities - Resource Management



  • Manage financial resources for private lending portfolio via active management of the credit pipeline to ensure the business is adequately funded. Make recommendations regarding funding sources to maximize revenues within liquidity risk tolerance, and identifying and executing process or structure adjustments to realize capital efficiencies
  • Ensure the business operates within the governance and controls framework
  • Manage ad hoc requests from senior management which including data management reporting, and ad-hoc presentations


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED



  • Experience supporting financial services with a general understanding of leveraged finance, fixed income, or banking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with desire to work in a fast paced, high pressure, results driven environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with a high attention to detail and flexible with hours.
  • Strong financial, analytical and presentation skills, with working knowledge of multiple asset classes.
