Overview

This is an OUSTANDING opportunity for a new graduate or early career Engineer to learn from a technically deep team! The CAES Advanced Program Development (APD) line of business is seeking a highly motivated Associate Engineer for new product development and product improvement projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes design, analysis, and all aspects of project engineering work.

Responsibilities

  • Circuit card design including parts selection, schematic entry, and layout
  • Write embedded software for micro
  • Write VHDL for FPGA designs.
  • Design digital hardware to interface with real-time and closed-loop subsystems to meet operationally relevant system goals.
  • Learn and use engineering tools for new product development.
  • Develop microcontroller and FPGA designs for multi-board control applications.
  • Design and create communication interfaces between equipment and the user.
  • Design, simulate, integrate, and test digital functions and sub-systems into CAES' products.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 0 to 2 years' experience in Engineering in high-tech R&D and/or manufacturing companies.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Work experience in electronic product design and development.
  • Work within a multi-discipline engineering team to achieve program goals.
  • Experience with prototype assembly, turn-on, and debug in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience taking a design from concept to production, including characterization of designs.
  • Knowledge of high-speed digital and/or analog design.
  • Proficiency with Altium or Xpedition PCB design tools.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab equipment and using them to perform characterization and troubleshooting (meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, frequency counters, etc)

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
