KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Associate to join our State & Local Tax practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with gathering and documenting business and system requirements
  • Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems
  • Communicate to clients in a timely and effective manner
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues
  • Develop the necessary process documents, data intake forms, tools and work plans required for each project
  • Understand business rules and requirements and apply knowledge to client applications and deliverables
  • Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more

Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelors and/or Master's in Business, Accounting, Systems, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following is preferred: MS Access, VB, Power BI, Alteryx and/or SQL
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project, Visio or other process mapping software
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
  • Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BI
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferred
