IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Field Technician in our Havre, MT office. As a Field Technician you will be responsible for performing routine tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. As a second level with trainee experience work is checked by others in process and upon completion. The Construction Manager may assign the technician to a construction project to serve as a construction observer to make field measurements, documentation entries and read & interpret plans.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Intermediate to advanced field inspection, testing, and documentation;
  • Perform independently or interdependently on site and laboratory testing of soils, concrete or hot mix asphalt;
  • Attend training to achieve various certifications;
  • Understand operations and identify potential problems;
  • Operate company vehicles;
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles;
  • Observe safety and security procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence;
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization;
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  • Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form;
  • Must always maintain professional conduct;
  • Valid driver's license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier;
  • Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Education and experience:

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred;
  • 1 years of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred;
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
