POSITION TITLE: VP CONTROLLER

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE

FLEXIBLE WORK PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY CODE: Hybrid Work (HW) & Flextime (FLT)

FUNCTION:Under the general direction of the Senior Vice President - Chief Financial Officer (CFO), manages the Finance Department. Assumes other responsibilities in the absence of the CFO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist the VP of Finance Operations by:

* Making and approving decisions for department employees regarding employment, performance reviews, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers and terminations.

* Assigning work, providing training, and guiding and advising subordinates as necessary.

* Resolving personnel problems.

* Coordinating the activities of the department with other departments of the bank and third-party vendors.

2. Reviews, supervises and/or prepares reports which entail researching, organizing, and analyzing financial data, accounting problems and issues. Evaluates problems, formulates documentation, and recommends solutions or improvements. Supports the Assistant Controller with department oversight.

3. Oversees the month-end closing process and all Board financial reports.

4. Analyze financial data to provide insightful reporting and strategic recommendations to senior management.

5. Responsible for the Allowance for Credit Loss calculation, policy and procedures.

6. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.

7. Coordinates and oversees the preparation, completion and submission of the quarterly Call Report, Y-9, FR2900, and any other regulatory reporting requirements for the Bank and its subsidiaries.

8. Responsible for federal and state tax payments and coordinating annual tax filings with external tax accountants.

9. Assists with the preparation and coordination of the budget process. Continuously monitors the budget of the Bank and its subsidiaries. Critically review the profitability of the various "profit" and "cost" centers of the bank and its subsidiaries.

10.Maintains the Bank's FDICIA Controls and COSO's 2013 "Internal Control - Integrated Framework.

11.Oversees the coordination of organizing and preparing the internal audit and regulatory exam request items, related to the Finance Department. Responds to any inquiries during their review.

12. Coordinates the year-end audit with external auditors and prepares the annual audited financial statements.

13. Assist the CFO on the asset/liability interest rate risk and cash management of the bank. In addition to the approval of outgoing wires, review of the daily cash position and liquidity management.

14. Participate with senior management in the development of the strategic plan.

15. Accountable for proper procedures, policies and controls being in place to maintain adequate internal controls for the accounting and purchasing functions.

16. Serves as member of the Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), Deposit Pricing Subcommittee, Capital Markets and Subsidiary Subcommittees (as needed).

17. Oversee lease accounting and maintaining lease software.

18. Serves as a member of the Loan Review (Managed Assets) Committee participating in the monthly review of watch list and classified loans, OREO, and adequacy of the allowance for loan loss.

19. Continue to pursue technological advances to ease month-end closing process, finance tasks and purchasing process.

20. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in accounting plus extensive banking and accounting experience. with knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP. A master's degree and/or CPA designation is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem solving, computer, management, leadership, and communication skills.
