JOB TITLE: Sous Chef/Lead Cook LOCATION: Roundhouse Lodge, Solitude Mountain Resort DIVISION: Food & Beverage POSITION: The Sous Chef assists the Roundhouse Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining high culinary standards, and ensuring a seamless dining experience at the Roundhouse Lodge. This role requires a passion for mountain cuisine, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Culinary Operations: * Assist in menu development and execution, incorporating seasonal and local * Supervise food preparation and presentation to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with resort standards. * Collaborate on daily specials and unique offerings to enhance the dining experience. Leadership & Training: * Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence. * Manage staff schedules to maintain optimal coverage during peak and off-peak hours. * Act as the kitchen leader in the absence of the Chef. * Embody the Alterra & Solitude Values and Behaviors. Quality & Safety Standards: * Enforce compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. * Monitor inventory, ensuring efficient use of supplies and minimizing waste. * Coordinate with vendors to manage food orders, maintaining quality and cost control. Guest Experience: * Ensure prompt and professional service to meet guest expectations. * Address and resolve any kitchen-related guest concerns in a professional manner. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * volume kitchen, with at least 1 year in a-Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high * Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and culinary techniques. * Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail. * Ideal candidate can ski or snowboard to the restaurant for their shifts. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. * Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Comfortable working at high altitudes and in a mountain environment. * leadership role.
