Job Purpose

The successful candidate will manage a small database of customers in North America and the UK/EMEA, focusing on prospecting and generating qualified leads. This will involve outbound calls to decision-makers in language services, with a emphasis on the life sciences and linguistic validation space (COA/eCOA). Leads will be obtained through marketing initiatives, independent research, and opportunities from conferences.

The Business Development Manager will follow up on campaigns, cold call targets, existing client base, identify contacts and determine buyers and decision-making influencers. The successful candidate must be technically minded and confident in providing the RWS's technology message generating interest in RWS's solutions.

RWS Regulated Industries is a highly specialized division of RWS, a world-leading provider of technology-enabled language, content, and intellectual property services. The Regulated Industries division is focused on developing translation and content management solutions tailored to address the complex regulatory environment in force with premium sectors such as Life Sciences and Healthcare (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, CROs, healthcare companies), Finance (banks, asset management companies, insurance providers, fintech) and Legal (law firms, audit companies).



Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

    Identify and gather new clients for RWS
  • Look after and upsell to the existing customer database
  • Build a strong long-term pipeline
  • Deliver revenue growth goals established in conjunction with executive and Divisional management
  • Follow up on pipelines for business expansion
  • Foster strong client relationships
  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients of all levels
  • Build strong internal relationships with the people responsible for executing RWS Solutions
  • Include relevant RWS representatives in appropriate client meetings
  • Provide appropriate management updates and solicit feedback and direction when appropriate
  • Secure on-site presentation opportunities with high level clients
  • Prepare and perform presentations at internal and or external industry events

Skills & Experience

  • More than 5 years of experience developing sales roles.
  • Specialization selling Software (SaaS) B2B and B2C.
  • Proven track record of meeting regional sales targets.
  • Ability to communicate software solutions and ideas in detail and at high level
  • Ability to cold call into an organization and identify key decision makers and influencers
  • Self-motivated and able to appropriately set and pursue own goals in support of the organization's goals
  • Organized, flexible and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously; pays attention to detail and able to report results in a concise format
  • Able to plan, organize and follow job activities in accordance with their importance and respond appropriately to changes and interruptions
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred, but not required
  • Must be a skilled communicator with a dynamic and engaging phone presence who excels in questioning and listening to determine the prospect's needs
  • Must be a fast learner who enjoys self-education
  • Must be able to generate well written correspondence to targeted customers
  • Focused, polite and persistent; he/she knows how to learn and derive strength

US Base Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 / year plus a generous comission

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
