Overview Job Summary
Provide expert-level fabrication or characterization process and/or equipment services in support of either the operation or maintenance of research laboratory systems or in the design, construction and operation of research equipment components or processes associated with research efforts within an academic or research unit. Lead the deployment of engineering solutions and upgrades to system software, hardware, or support equipment. Provide work and project direction to other engineers and technical personnel. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: laboratory management and personnel, research management, faculty, students; co-workers, subordinates, vendors, suppliers and contractors. This position typically will supervise, advise, counsel, and provide performance oversight management for a limited team containing other engineering and technical laboratory personnel.
