THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Grants Manager, primary responsibilities will include reviewing and evaluating grant applications, ensuring they meet established criteria, and coordinating necessary updates. You will conduct periodic reviews of program activities to ensure compliance with state and federal objectives, as well as monitor subrecipient grant balances and recommend corrective actions when necessary. This role entails preparing regular status and financial reports and meeting all reporting requirements for the assigned grant programs.

Responsibilities also include creating and assisting in special training courses related to the grant programs, developing grant agreements that comply with federal and state regulations, and managing the Commonwealth's grant application process through ESA. You will participate in coordinating the release of applications in partnership with PEMA and ensuring that all necessary information is available. This role demands strong communication skills for preparing correspondence and maintaining effective relationships with officials at all levels of government. Furthermore, it requires ongoing knowledge of state and federal regulations, participation in pertinent trainings, and attending meetings, conferences, and seminars related to the grant programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
