Cosmetologist (PRN) - Central State Hospital

Job Description:

Central State Hospital is seeking a Cosmetologist to work PRN

Typically a 4-5 hour shift every other week, during the day on a weekday.

Under general supervision of the Director of Social Services, the Cosmetologist:

• Will operate the CSH "Beauty Shop" (cosmetology area) and provide the following services to patients of all genders as needed/requested: haircuts, shampoo and beard and mustache trims.
• Will be responsible for the setup and clean-up of the work area, and will ensure adequate inventory of cosmetology supplies, including preparing purchase requests in accordance with facility purchasing procedures.
• Provide instruction to direct care staff in hair and scalp care techniques and treatments, as needed.
• Responsible for completing all required training per requirements of the hospital and regulatory agencies within the required timeframe.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Must have and maintain a current license from either the KY Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists or the KY Board of Barbering.
