Description
Role Summary:
- Maintain and repair Volkswagen Group of America corporate vehicles as needed, develop and document repair procedures and validate repair information
- Act as assistant/back up Shop Foreman
Role Responsibilities:
- Repair, test, maintain, and update VW /Audi vehicles to the latest technical level
- Communicate problems and solutions to VWGoA/VW-AG Quality departments
- Test vehicles under varying conditions to determine and document cause of problems
- Verify customer complaints in the actual field environment
- Evaluate new diagnostic systems and procedures; verify GFF and service publications
- Perform and evaluate repairs according to newly developed repair information
- Provide recommendations to internal departments for modifications to repair procedures
- Support QTM's and ASM's as needed via phone or onsite at dealerships
- Evaluate buy-back vehicles for emissions, drivability, and ineffective repair procedures
- Accurate and timely analysis of failure mode in assigned models
- Support dealer repairs/technical product investigations onsite at dealerships
- Perform "tele-diagnosis" for dealerships and independents to support compliance
- Test and validate field fixes
- Attend and support dealership and customer focus groups
- Provide onsite vehicle launch support
- Order parts and monitor parts purchase statistics
- Prioritize and plan testing procedure sequence
- Provide technical input to Product Planning, Technical Training, Product Support, and Academy
- Support APRO, IAV, OBD, and other test teams as required
- Build and/or support concept vehicles (Accessories, Product Planning, etc.)
- Develop and manufacture test fixtures and diagnostic techniques
- Work with warranty activities to evaluate returned parts
Qualifications
Qualifications: Years of Relevant Experience:
Education - Required:
- Degree or certificate in Automotive Technology
- Volkswagen Audi Technical Training
- Master Technician Certification or equivalent experience
- Extensive Volkswagen and/or Audi product knowledge
- Experience with VW/Audi diagnostic tools
- ASE Master Certification
Education - Desired:
- German and/or Spanish language skills
- Hybrid & High-Voltage battery diagnostic and repair experience

Specialized Skills - Required:
- Extensive of Volkswagen & Audi technical knowledge
- Advanced level of ODIS diagnostic experience
- ASE technical certification
- Degree or certificate in Automotive Technology
Specialized Skills - Desired:
- Master Audi and or Volkswagen training certification
- German language skills
