Description

The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the children, the daily living activities and routines of the unit, documentation and the care of the physical unit. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for ensuring agency standards are met, including the quality of activities. The Assistant Supervisor assures that the interactions between adults and children are positive and conducive to meeting UC/UM goals. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for maintaining oversight of all house activities and assigns tasks to staff as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:




  1. Responsible for the development of daily activities assigning and reassigning responsibilities for all staff for whom they are responsible.



  2. Purchases food items that meet the appropriate dietary requirements for all youth.



  3. Responsible for the requesting and oversight of funds designated for youth personal needs, such as hygiene items, clothing, haircuts, etc.



  4. Responsible for assisting in the scheduling of staff assigned to LTFC Houses.



  5. Responsible for assisting in coordinating staff coverage and transportation logistics during medical, school, outings, religious services and all other escorts



  6. Ensures the safety of the residents.



  7. Monitors staff assisting children with personal needs.



  8. Administers and/or supervises administration of medications in the absence of the nurse.



  9. Carries out goals and objectives as outlined for each youth in accordance to their treatment plan, if applicable.



  10. Maintains a clean and comfortable physical living environment for the children, consistent with Agency standards.



  11. Ensures children have adequate clothing in good repair and that they are dressed appropriately for the activity and season. Maintains an inventory of all items.



  12. Completes informational reports, as needed, in the Kaleidacare system



  13. Ensures all youth services department reports and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.



  14. In the absence of the House Supervisor, responsible for the oversight of Informational and Significant Incident reporting and ensures appropriate notifications to the Supervisor, Program Director and Clinician are made immediately





Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday 12pm-10pm

Qualifications

MINIMUM:




  • Associates Degree; minimum 2 years child care experience; experience beyond 2 years combined with a High School Diploma or equivalent may be used to offset education requirements.



  • Valid New York State Driver's License with good driving record as determined by the Agency.



  • Bilingual in Spanish and English and/or any other language as determined relevant to the UC population.



  • Must be willing to travel within the U.S. if needed for child-sponsor reunification.





PREFERRED:




  • BA/BS Degree



  • CPR and First Aid certificates



  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer
