Job Summary:

The Outreach Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and delivering outreach programs that foster community engagement and raise awareness of our research initiatives, aimed particularly at children. This role includes recruiting research participants from the cerebral palsy community, engaging parents of at-risk infants for research purposes, coordinating events, managing relationships with community partners, and assisting in policy development to ensure our programs are inclusive and accessible to children and families from diverse and underserved populations.


Responsibilities:
Organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing. Assists with policy development and organizes resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.

  • 20% Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
  • 20% Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
  • 20% Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
  • 20% Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development
  • 20% Recruits participants for the lab studies

Qualifications:

Required:
-Strong organizational skills
-2 years of experience partnering with disabled communities, with a preference for experience working with children and their families

Preferred:
-Previous experience or certifications in community engagement or outreach are preferred.


Work Type:

Part Time: 25%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding


Salary:

Minimum $48,107 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications


Additional Information:

This is a terminal position that will end one year from the incumbent start date.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.

University sponsorship is not available for this position, including transfers of sponsorship. The selected applicant will be responsible for ensuring their continuous eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without the need of an employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment. This position is an ongoing position that will require continuous work eligibility. UW-Madison is not an E-Verify employer, and therefore, is not eligible to employ F1 STEM OPT Extension participants.
