Senior Digital Asset Management Specialist Department: DAMS Reports To: Sr. Manager, DAMS Position Summary: The Senior Digital Asset Management Specialist manages digital assets in the Highlights for Children Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), ensuring easy access for teams, and understands publishing workflows for successful product development. This role is also responsible for integrating metadata from various platforms and optimizing metadata discoverability. Additionally, the role will do product demos and training, fulfill asset requests, conduct user acceptance testing, manage user access, and enforce digital rights best practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organizes, catalogs, and stores assets in our platform, ensuring easy access for relevant teams.
- Acquires an in-depth understanding of publishing processes and workflows.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of workflow systems for the organization while documenting best practices.
- Takes ownership and works closely with stakeholders to understand and drive simplification and consistent user experience across the platform / solutions.
- Collaborates with team members to develop our product information management strategy, integrating into all relevant business processes.
- Contributes to best practices and monitors implementation of our systems.
- Performs digital asset lifecycle activities.
- Integrates metadata from various databases and platforms. Implements metadata transformations for various imports, exports, and reports.
- Optimizes the discoverability and interoperability of applied metadata.
- Develops support documentation and providing training to new groups of users to help ensure accessibility and ease-of-use for stakeholders.
- Conducts user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide feedback for improvements.
- Provides ongoing support, maintenance, and configurations for implemented systems.
- Manages user access and permissions. Responsible for how stakeholders and qualified external collaborators can access, use, and interact with the company's digital assets.
- Fulfills asset requests, as necessary, for both internal and external needs. May need to modify assets to comply with specific file requirements.
- Implements best practices for storing and enforcing digital rights.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Library Science, Information Management, Digital Media, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DAM and/or PIM field
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of DAM and PIM processes and best practices.
- Experience with censhare a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, and Bridge.
- Understanding of metadata standards, with experience in ONIX desired.
- Intermediate knowledge of HTML, XML, XSLT, SQL, Git, and development or configurations a plus.
- Experience with Teams and Box for file transfer and collaboration.
