Major/Essential Functions


  • Working with outside purveyors to test new equipment or improve processes with current equipment or chemicals to improve custodial cleaning standards, increase efficiencies and stay current with industry trends. Looks for ways to implement ergonomics for safety in the workplace.
  • Works with faculty, staff, and students across campus regarding services provided by the Custodial Department, MailTech and Fuel. Provides excellent customer service, following up on requests and complaints to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Specific responsibilities include oversight of Custodial, Fuel and MailTech. Responsible for the development, supervision, and evaluation, directly or indirectly, of staff assigned. Responsible for assisting with producing trainings required for team success.
  • Works with Managing Director for financial management, including long- and short-term financial planning, budget planning, development, and execution; and monitoring of fiscal status. Approve purchases for department and other duties as needed in the absence of director. Develop and implement new processes for a more efficient department.
  • Works with middle management of units to ensure proper staffing levels, work loading, receive and respond to customer feedback, policy compliance and fairness. Responsible for disciplinary actions required for the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required and five years administrative or management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Ability to manage large diverse staff that works in different locations on campus. Ability to build a team atmosphere and achieve the highest standards.
  • 5-10 years management experience in a large-scale service environment.
  • 3-5 years experience of process development and management.
  • 2 years oversight of organization's financial accounts.
