Summary

This position is based in Anchorage, AK, our support hub for employees traveling through Alaska. The People Operations Manager is member of the Employee Experience leadership team, reporting to the Director of Employee Experience. This person leads the staff team based in Anchorage, a key Trident logistics hub and is responsible for the year-round people movement, ongoing support for employees traveling through Alaska and their experience at Trident. This person is responsible for the day-to-day operations and upkeep of our Anchorage Support Center services and assets, including but not limited to collaborating with our broader employee services team to facilitate complex employee transportation, housing, and food service logistics. This person is responsible for our company facilities and vehicles in Anchorage. The People Operations Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a positive working environment for employees and fostering a positive working relationship with the city of Anchorage and our vendors.

Job Duties:

  • Lead direct reports, assign work to staff, provide coaching and training, set goals, and is accountable for performance evaluation, staff development, and people management decisions
  • Responsible to carry out Trident's vision, mission and goals through planning, scheduling, project support, budgeting, and carrying out administrative responsibilities to effectively support the operations
  • Manage the employee inhaul/outhaul and people movement process through Anchorage in coordiantion with Seattle Support Center recruiters and location travel staff, making sure our employees receive the best experience possible
  • Work with the team to assist employees and contractors with logistical issues including facilitating rebooking of flights, lodging and transportation as neededdue to weather/delays
  • Project management support for key employee experience initiatives and long-term projects in Anchorage
  • Identifying, forecasting, and delivering financial savings
  • Responsibility for ordering supplies needed in Anchorage to support operations
  • Maintains effective resources for emergency response as it relates to our team in the Alaska and the Aleutians
  • Work with local community leaders to build strong relationships with the city of Anchorage and develops meaningful relationships local businesses and organizations
  • Provides friendly, helpful communication and assistance and treats all Trident employees, contractors, and visitors with respect
  • Be the on-call point person for emergencies

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or four (4) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years supervision/leadership experience
  • Collaborator who works well with others and can quickly and effectively assess and problem solve situations and care for people well
  • Communicates effectively by phone, text/app, and email in demanding environment with all stakeholders to ensure decisions and directions are based on up-to-date information
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication, organization, and time management
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and able to re-prioritize as needed
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and be comfortable and capable of driving the company passenger van
  • Be on call as needed, nights and weekends as necessary - especially during key people movement times for seasonal inhaul and outhaul times
  • Limited travel may be required to Trident locations as needed to support operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of seafood industry and or travel industry
  • Bilingual
  • Experience working with public agencies, legislative positions, and/or constituents, preferably in Alaska
