Description

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Director, Sales & Account Management for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Starting base salary = $147,000- $184,000- $221,000 (commensurate with related experience). The AHA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location.

The Director, Sales & Account Management is responsible for achieving commercial revenue and profitability goals of the AHA through a high-performing team of sales and account executives. Succeed through team-building proficiency, problem-solving and deal-negotiation skills, commitment to meeting goals, flexibility in how to meet goals, and enthusiasm for the Association's offerings to its members and business partners.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

* Participate as member of health forum management team for goal setting, strategic planning, talent management, budgeting, etc.
* Manage sales and account executives to meet sales and account goals. Lead by example, personally managing select accounts and supporting direct reports to manage theirs.
* Conduct regular meetings with Health Forum management team and direct reports to review sales KPIs, portfolio activity, and market conditions.
* Collaborate with business line leaders to understand their offerings; review sales and account management plans; provide feedback on opportunities to improve customer adoption, satisfaction, and success of current offerings; and identify new offering opportunities to explore.
* Stay current on health care trends relevant to the solution portfolio and customer base.
* Define and refine sales territories and goals to optimize performance of each offering in the portfolio. Define and refine sales plans (i.e., targets and incentives) tailored to individuals' territory and portfolio assignments.
* Instill core sales and account management disciplines: consultative selling, cross/up-sales planning, CRM usage, pipeline development, funnel management, forecasting, contracting, pricing, formal account plans and reviews, etc.
* Hire, retain, and train team to build its capabilities, capacity, and performance.
* Support other Association units with their sales and account needs.
* Communicate clearly and frequently with all stakeholders-colleagues, contractors, and outside partners-on performance, resource needs, talent development, business risks and mitigations, and portfolio status.

Education
Bachelors (required)
Experience
7 years: Experience with sales or account management. (required)
5 years: Experience managing sales or account management professionals, managing individual accounts >$100K, books of business >$1M personally, and >$5M teamwide, and
B2B sales.
