About Us: The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a world-renowned institution known for its academic excellence and innovative research. The Wisconsin Traffic Operations and Safety (TOPS) Laboratory, part of the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a nationally recognized research organization with a mission to improve traffic operations and safety through a diverse balance of research, partnerships, service, and training. The TOPS Lab research program considers all aspects of transportation safety and operations, including the integration of field and laboratory experimentation, statistical modeling, human factors, information systems and technology, and design and operational effects. The TOPS Lab manages several large-scale transportation research and data management systems and works closely with the UW Division of Information Technology (DoIT), the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), and other partners to support the computing infrastructure for these systems.
