LOCATION: Downers Grove DEPARTMENT: Production JOB TITLE: P.M. Line 2 Packaging Day off Relief/Unassigned Bake Shop Helper WORKDAY GRADE LEVEL: H003 BASE RATE PER HOUR: $23 ($23-$26) SHIFT: 2nd # OF OPENINGS: 1 HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 1:45 PM until finish. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required. JOB SUMMARY/JOB DUTIES: Covers various positions on Line 2 Packaging for breaks, Lunches, Call offs, and vacations. Positions covered include Bake Shop Helper, Break Lunch Relief, Slicer Feeder, and Bagger Caser. Must follow 100% compliance to HACCP, CTS, Safety, GMPs, and SOPs and can work successfully with minimal supervision. May have earlier start time when needed. Other duties as assigned. Bake Shop Helper: Responsible for giving days off to employees on Line 2 Packaging. Operates the Bagger and Kwiklok machines, cases product into baskets or cases, keeping up with line speed. Covers Bagger Casers and Slicer Feeders for breaks and lunches. See specific job descriptions for each of these positions. Responsible for monitoring, recording and maintaining product quality standards. Slicer Feeder: Feeds bread into Slicers at an approximate rate of 55 loaves per minute. Continuously monitors the size, quality and weight of bread, reporting any variances to Supervision. Must start/stop Wrapper and Slicer according to line needs. Watches for and unjams bread on the Hartman slicer and Wrapper infeed. Checks for correct number of slices of bread. Conduct checks at main metal detector and documents findings. Bagger Operator/Caser: Sets up and operates Bagger and Kwiklok machines, making necessary adjustments to keep the line running well. Cases product into baskets or cases, keeping up with line speed. Monitors bags for clarity. Checks bread and packaging quality, including wrapping and bagging. Must understand code board. Racking and unracking bread as needed. General cleaning of area assigned. May be called upon to assist other Line 2 positions during operation and other duties as requested. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees' approved vacation subject to change when bidding to a new area. There will be a 3-month evaluation period to ensure satisfactory performance. Must stay on the job one year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
