Job Description

This role will provide support to the Director of Finance for the acquisition of food, beverage, and non-perishable purchases at maximum economics based on business activity and act as a liaison between the hotel and supplier representatives in the procurement of goods and services required to achieve the objectives of each department



Responsibilities

    irectly supervise the Purchasing/Receiving hourly staff through delegation of work tasks to achieve set objectives.
  • Coordinate and monitor work performed by storeroom associates, specifically food and beverage requirements according to forecasted menus.
  • Attend all food and beverage and related meetings such as menu tie-down, weekly forecast and financial services.
  • Maintain close communications with the chefs and catering department on requirements for future menu events to evaluate menus against par inventories in determining necessary requirements for outlets and banquet functions.
  • Establish and maintain training tools for subordinates to achieve a better knowledge and understanding of the purchasing process and applications such as: product familiarity, receiving and storage standards. EOM reconciliation of food and beverage, EOM accounts payable closing.
  • Responsible for department training, reviews, disciplinary actions and associate recognitions.
  • Evaluate vendor performance in compliance to purchasing bid procedures.
  • Monitors vendor ability to provide timely and consistent quality according to established specifications.
  • Interact with other departments to ensure that guest needs are satisfied.
  • Responsible for with monthly inventory.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule at all times
  • Work daily with accounts payable to ensure Birchstreet is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage weekly bid process to ensure the best prices are being obtained on frequently purchased items.
  • Coordinate weekly wine, liquor and beer purchases, ensuring compliance with state liquor laws.
  • Establish and maintain requisition procedures for alcoholic beverages that guarantee maximum control over inventories.
  • Understands associates positions well enough to perform duties in associate's absence.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial and business decision making.
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among associates. Ensures associates are treated fairly and equitably. Strives to improve associate engagement and retention.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni standards.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by senior management.
  • Champion and drive the All In Omni culture.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years experience as storeroom attendant in a high volume, upscale Hotel
  • Exceptional guest service skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Be able to make quick decisions and possess good judgment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel and clubhouse.
  • Frequent travel around resort property.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions.
