The Maricopa County Department of Public Health's Health Outreach, Partnerships & Equity seeks a motivated, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused Strategic Initiatives Manager to lead efforts funded through opioid and tobacco settlement funds. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing and managing strategic initiatives that aim to prevent and mitigate the impacts of substance misuse and addiction in Maricopa County. We Require
Four years of experience coordinating and administering health or human services programs (Please note direct client service experience is not applicable for this requirement) Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare administration, social work, or related field An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Job Contributions
Develops, executes, and manages strategic plan for Maricopa County opioid and tobacco product related settlement funds. Manages and coordinates strategic planning process to promote intradepartmental and community collaboration Establishes and implements a community engagement strategy, which integrates lived experience into the strategic plans Identifies needs/gaps and opportunities to implement systems changes that address substance use in Maricopa County and works with partners to effectively implement these changes Utilizes a data-informed approach to identify and implement systems and programmatic needs/gaps/opportunities. Monitors/evaluates progress and addresses challenges/needs as they arise Manages budgets, projects and contracts associated with opioid and tobacco related settlement funds awarded to Maricopa County Works with internal partners to develop and maintain infrastructure to support effective management of opioid and tobacco product settlement funds Develops and maintains an understanding of efforts to address substance use in Maricopa County Conducts landscape analysis of current efforts to address substance use in Maricopa County and develops mechanisms to remain updated on substance use initiatives in our jurisdiction Establishes, maintains, and strengthens professional relationships with key and potential partners to support program initiatives and coordinate collaboration opportunities Provides regular updates and reports for supervisor and County management. Provides presentations on projects/progress as needed Manages and ensures that all reporting and contractual obligations are completed accurately and on time
Working Conditions
Ability to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency Ability to travel throughout Maricopa County during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of a County or private vehicle used on County business Valid Arizona driver's license is required upon hire Within one month of hire, all employees are required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
