Your Role With Us:

Located in the heart of Oregon's spectacular Willamette Valley, the midwives of Salem Health Medical Group (SHMG) at Salem Health provide full scope midwifery care, including: prenatal, delivery, postpartum and well woman care. This eight (8) member team is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join in a full-time (1.0 FTE) capacity. The practice environment is highly collaborative and deeply connected to our community.

A full-time midwife covers (165) 12-hour shifts annually, approximately 13.5 shifts per month. The team aims for an even split between call and clinic shifts. Call shifts are 12-24 hours, depending on need and provider preference. Ideal candidates are those with 2+ years of experience and are comfortable working in a moderate to high acuity practice

Background/Expertise:

  • Graduation from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME).
  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
  • Current unencumbered Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Possess a Master's Degree in Nursing or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing
  • Current certification as a Nurse-Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Midwifery Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing specific to the expanded specialty in which privileges are being requested.
  • At least 12 months relevant experience in the specialty area during the past twenty four (24) months (If this requirement is not met, an onboarding plan may be developed for review and consideration).
