The primary function of this position is to ensure that all aspects of site environmental, health and safety are managed in compliance with applicable laws an in conformance with the HDT EH&S Policy Ensure that a proactive safety program is developed & implemented, complete with metrics.

Essential Duties:



  • Ensures that all aspects of site environmental, health and safety are managed in compliance with applicable laws and in conformance with the HDT EHS Policy
  • Ensures that a proactive safety programs developed and implemented, complete with metrics
  • Interfaces with and manage relationships with all applicable government and regulatory agencies
  • Manages site performance and contract commitments to deliver continuous performance
  • Leads teams in the risk assessment process
  • Oversees and deliver all related EHS development and training programs
  • Maintains required procedures, plans, training materials and related documents to ensure audit readiness at any time
  • Leading the participation by business leaders in administering the day-to-day aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety management
  • Acting as an advocate for Green Initiatives within the organization
  • As requested, serving as the emergency coordinator for the site
  • Maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over the facility(ies)
  • May participate in cross-functional teams and work groups
  • Additional responsibilities include providing EHS audit services, as well as project management and training as required
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
  • Available for limited travel


Education/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:



  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A proven record of success developing, implementing and managing effective EH&S programs
  • Management experience and superior teamwork skills are essential as is the ability to lead and build teams and to effectively identify and resolve conflicts
  • Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatory
  • Must have excellent PC-based computer skills
  • Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
