ASML is seeking a Technical Project Leader to join the Wilton, CT development location as we break new ground in the emerging field of photolithography. As ASML pushes the boundaries of nano-technology beyond current state of the art, we have a need to develop high precision equipment while maintaining a focus on cost effectiveness and reliability. We are looking for someone to help pioneer knowledge in this developing area.

Roles and responsibilities

As a Project Lead in Optical Sensing (Wafer Alignment Sensor and Yieldstar), you are responsible for the organization, structure and planning of optical, mechanical and electrical assemblies as well as functional software development that make up our optical sensors. These activities cover the complete development cycle, from architecture definition to final integration and high volume manufacturing. You will be responsible for the project management, execution and reporting of large, highly complex, optical module systems, achieved by proactively leading multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, co-developers and cross-sector stakeholders.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary D&E development team of 20-40 highly skilled technical employees (MSc, PhD, various experience levels) to ensure in-spec, on time delivery.
  • Create detailed project plan including resource and material requirements, proactively drive plan and manage project budget.
  • Define deliverables for mechanical, electrical, software, optical, and industrial engineers
  • Align and interface frequently with multiple projects in the US and the Netherlands
  • Collaborate and align with cross-sectors (including Customer Support, Global Support Center, Manufacturing, Marketing and Quality) on regular basis to ensure on time delivery
  • Report on regular basis to Program Management in Wilton and Veldhoven
  • Communicate upward and downward on regular basis
  • Understand proper escalation paths and acts accordingly
  • Actively engage with line managers to secure necessary resources and support the growth and development of your team members including providing feedback and coaching
  • Delegate tasks and maintain accountability of team members
  • Manage system interdependencies and understand how your system links to the complete machine
  • Assess and address technical and operational risks based on input of architects and design engineers.
  • Communicate impact and adapt to change resulting from resource reallocation, scope change, and timing changes.

Education and Experience

  • BS or above in an Engineering or related field (Optical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
  • 1+ year leading medium to large teams
  • Experience in an optics / physics / engineering intensive environment
  • Relevant knowledge in one technical discipline (mono or multi)

Role within Office

Responsibilities:

  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.).
