Role: Director- Global Visual Merchandising Brand: Kiehl's Location: New Yorkz, NY The Global Director of Creative Visual Merchandising will spearhead the creative direction and execution of compelling visual merchandising strategies for Kiehl's, a flagship brand within the L'Oreal portfolio. This role involves developing and implementing innovative visual strategies across all retail channels to elevate the brand, engage customers, and drive product sales. The Director will work closely with marketing, product, and retail teams to ensure that Urban Decay brand identity and creative vision are consistently and effectively represented across all stores and platforms. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a global creative visual merchandising strategy for Kiehl's that aligns with the brand's identity, business goals, and resonates with its target audience.
- Lead the design and execution of seasonal campaigns, window displays, product presentations, and in-store signage that embody Kiehl's brand aesthetics and drive customer engagement.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of visual merchandising guidelines to ensure consistency across all Kiehl's stores and retail platforms globally.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in visual merchandising to continuously bring fresh and creative ideas to the Kiehl's brand.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability within the visual merchandising team.
- Provide strategic direction on the development of store layouts, product displays, and visual storytelling elements that enhance the customer experience and strengthen brand identity.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing and product teams to ensure seamless alignment between visual merchandising strategies and broader brand campaigns.
- Partner with retail operations to plan and execute visual merchandising rollouts, including new store openings, remodels, and seasonal transitions.
- Work closely with e-commerce and digital teams to maintain a cohesive visual identity between physical and online shopping experiences, ensuring a consistent brand experience across all channels.
- Oversee the planning and execution of all visual merchandising projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to brand standards, while managing budgets effectively.
- Manage the design and production of in-store displays, signage, and fixtures, coordinating with vendors and contractors to maintain quality and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct regular store visits and visual audits to ensure that merchandising guidelines are being followed and that displays are engaging, impactful, and effectively driving sales.
- Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that all visual merchandising efforts create a compelling and cohesive brand experience that resonates with Urban Decay's target audience and enhances their journey.
- Focus on optimizing the customer journey by creating visually engaging and easy-to-navigate store layouts that encourage product discovery and purchase.
- Utilize customer insights and feedback to continuously refine visual merchandising strategies, ensuring that displays meet customer expectations and elevate the overall shopping experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: 8+ years of experience in creative visual merchandising, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the retail, fashion, beauty, or a related industry, ideally with experience managing global brands.
- Relevant Education: Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Fine Art, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in creative fields are a plus.
- Exceptional Creative Vision: Strong design skills with a deep understanding of visual storytelling, retail aesthetics, and translating brand identity into captivating visual experiences.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and confidently present ideas to senior leadership.
- Project Management Expertise: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) and a strong understanding of retail fixture design and production processes.
