Basic function

The PPD Business Development Manager, Schools is a Field based position that will support the SalonCentric Strategic Account Manager, Salon Business Partner, State RDA Territory Development Manager and SalonCentric Store District Mentors to achieve PPD School sales and KPI goals. They will work closely with the SC District Sales Mentors to develop and deploy key strategies and resources that support the success of the Street, State RDA and Store teams, enabling them to gain new School accounts and grow ISMS. The PPD BDM, Schools will serve as a secondary support to the SAM to close new partnerships and gain ISMS. They will help to build dynamic opportunities, drive Beauty Tech, business tools and function as the liaison between the SAM, Brand Education and School Education team. The BDM, Schools will support and promote all education activity. They will be the conduit for feedback from the Field to our Brand Operations and Brand Activation teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support SalonCentric and State RDA in new PPD school partnerships and ISMS.
  • Work with brand education partners to schedule demos to secure new school partners and ISMS opportunities.
  • Actively promote and support texture initiatives for schools including Texture Mastery and Texture of Change
  • Create and implement territory growth strategies.
  • Deliver retailing class to students in key schools drive the retail category in schools and create endearment to PPD brands with students
  • Identify key school prospects for SalonCentric.
  • By request, support "at risk" school accounts to prevent loss to competition.
  • Plan and conduct strategic, purposeful market visits.
  • Work with School Education team to plan and deploy instructor education and ensure full utilization of brand earned education
  • Work with Store DSM to plan and execute in-store student events.
  • Identify opportunities within territory for in school education opportunities and provide support for successful execution.
  • Provide weekly business status updates and market insights to AVP PPD School Business Development.
  • Salesforce management
  • Manage territory fuel budget.
  • Participation in Brand, SC, and School events.

Experience:

  • 2-5 yrs. proven sales experience with emphasis on consultative selling
  • Effective development of Business Proposals
  • Experience with a distributor-based organization and structure.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional problem-solving skills in a selling environment.
  • Proven ability to manage a large geographic area.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills necessary (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Sales Force)
  • Ability to travel extensively (~3 out of 4 weeks) and work weekends as needed.

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience is required.
