Manager, Strategy Acceleration

As the Manager, Strategy Acceleration you will be instrumental in driving high-impact growth and efficiency initiatives at Heritage Environmental Services. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategy Acceleration you will collaborate with operations, commercial teams, and functional departments on a variety of strategic initiatives including operational and commercial excellence, organizational redesign, post-merger integration, and digital transformation.

You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of analysts and subject matter experts as part of the Transformation Management Office (TMO). You will leverage best-practice project and change management approaches to drive value-creating initiatives. The ambition for the TMO is to become a career catalyst for high-potential future leaders by creating opportunities to engage with various parts of the business, work on high-impact projects, and actively contribute to the company's strategic direction.

Keys to success in this transversal role is a strong ability to lead by influence, build trust-based relationships, and collaborate effectively with leaders and teams across the company.


Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
  • Leads and develops a high-performing team of analysts and relevant subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Delivers targeted, high-impact projects across the organization, including assigned Company Full Potential Plan (FPP) initiatives, post-merger integration (PMI), reorganization, pricing, and digital transformation
  • Optimizes key business work processes, identifying the current state, pain points, opportunities for improvement, and utilizes data-driven feedback loops to develop recommendations for a future state with implementation and change management plans
  • Leverages best-practice project and change management approaches to drive value-creating initiatives to sustainable completion
  • Supports the VP of Strategy Acceleration in prioritizing high-impact projects aligned with resource deployment, corporate strategies, and FPP goals
  • Identifies incremental value-creating opportunities, flagging them to the VP of Strategy Acceleration and incorporating them into the prioritized portfolio
  • Flags shortfalls, risks, or roadblocks identified in value-creating projects to the VP of Strategy Acceleration and SVP of Transformation and recommends remediation plans to recover lost value or address delayed implementation timelines
  • Tracks and provides regular reporting on project statuses to the TMO and senior leadership
  • Delivers measurable EBITDA impact through assigned projects focused on operational efficiency, commercial performance, functional optimization, and organizational agility
  • Provides post-merger integration (PMI) support to the M&A team
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • MBA (preferred)



Experience:



  • 4+ years of experience in project management or business transformation of relevant size and scale (required)
  • Proven track record in delivering efficiency improvements and growth initiatives (required)
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing, agile teams (required)
  • Experience in organizational redesign and post-merger integration (preferred)
  • Experience in environmental industry or in industrial production and process industries (preferred)



Competencies:



  • Prior experience leading a high-performing team and delivery of tangible results
  • Strategic thinking skills to translate business objectives into actionable plans
  • Project management strengths, especially in leading large and complex projects, influencing cross-functional key stakeholders, and prioritizing tasks for maximum impact
  • Experience with improving business processes, continuous improvement, digital transformation
  • Understanding of M&A and PMI best practices
  • Ability to maintain an independent perspective of what is best for the organization to drive successful outcomes across various stakeholder points of view
  • Regular and predictable attendance to consistently perform the vital functions and requirements of this role, contributing to our ongoing success
